MY HOMETOWN—SHAWAN　

　　YANG YUNFANG　

　　I have a special kind of feeling for my hometown--- SHAWAN all the time. Because I grew up there. Would you like to go there? Dear friends, now let me tell you something about SHANGWAN.　

　　It is a big town of TANCHANG and lies to the south of it and by the national road 212. Its natural landscape is very beautiful and its people are friendly, kind and hard-working. People who have been there love it very much. It has a river called---Balongjiang River and it’s just like a long white dragon around the mountains.　

　　When you pass by SHAWAN in spring, you can see a large mount of flowers and fruit trees, it is famous for the delicious snacks, such as Liangfeng and Rangpi as well as Jiaotuan.　

　　In the old days, it was a sad, dirty and small town. Nearly everyone was poor and many people had no work to do. Landlords and merchants lived in the large house and forced the poor peasants to work for them day and night. But the farmers there lived in the dark rooms, ate the unhealthy food and lived a miserable life that was not just like horses and cattle. Now in SHANWAN there are a lot of the old houses and in the narrow streets.　

　　Everything has changed since liberation. The people there, led by the communist party of China, have got rid of the poor and backward appearance, built a number of schools and shops. With the development of society and economy, my hometown is becoming more and more beautiful. More and more children can get the knowledge form the school because of the compulsory education in China.　

　　There is a gathering hall and a hospital on the street. Along the river, you can see there are many green trees and colorful flowers. The water is very clear and the sky is high and blue, some pigeons are flying in the sky freely. A lot of factories have been built there. On the river bank, boats, big and small, going though over the water busily and the laughter fly further and further .　

　　I love my hometown, and I love its people. They also have changed a lot. Healthy and happy, they are struggling for the socialism in the future.
