I woke up in my bed. I could feel my eyes sore from crying. It was all a nightmare. The nightmare seemed so real. I was scared. I was lonely. I was helpless. When I think of that terrifying scene, a cold shiver ran down my spine. I was breathing hard.

“It’s ok, everything is just fine. It was all a nightmare which is totally fake.” I comforted myself.

I got out of bed and slipped into my school uniform out of my pajamas. I stood in front of the mirror and brushed my black hair. I stared at the empty space, mum’s face formed in the mirror. “Get revenge for mommy.” She said softly, her image disappeared seconds after. Was that real or was that just my imagination? Just my imagination because it was just a dream, it can’t be real. I decided to think no more about it. I walked slowly to the dinning room, deep in thoughts. If it was just a dream, why did it feel so real?

Soon I realized I wasn”t buttering the bread. I was buttering my fingers. EUUUU! Yuck! I went over to the sink and washed my hands. Through the water I saw Cencila’s face again.

Then I heard the same sentence “Get revenge for mummy…… Get revenge for mummy…….”

I felt totally spooked. What’s going on? I must be missing my mum like crazy to imagine all these things. I turned off the tap and eventually Cencila’s image disappeared again. I slowly sat back down at the table, I continued having my breakfast. Ignore my imagination, just ignore it. It will soon be over. I thought. I don”t know what happened but something just drove me to the mirror. I caught my reflection in the full length mirror. Something happened again which didn”t surprise me much. Cencila’s face appeared again in the mirror. But this time she didn”t say anything that I thought so would.

“Be strong, I’ll see you very soon even I hope that I won’t.” She said softly, looking hopelessly at me. This got to be real, it cant be my imagination again!

“Why don”t you want to see me?” I asked angrily. I feel like I was a fool.

Her sad eyes told me something. “I wish I could tell you but I really can’t.” She replied.

“Why can’t you tell me?” I demanded.

Just then I heard some footsteps. I turned around, there was Sophie, David and Elizabeth. “Who are you talking to?” Sophie asked laughing.

“Errr….” I’ll tell them what happened I decided. “I know this sound crazy but I saw mummy in the mirror and she was talking to me.” I explained.

Sophie wasn”t laughing anymore.

“She what? What did she say to you?” I couldn”t ignore the hideous expression on her face.

Sophie, realizing she had just scared the hell out of me, softened her voice, gave me a plain smile.

“ Oh it couldn’t be, you’re just imagining everything.”

Yes, I really hope you are right.

They started laughing even more.

“You are nuts, Annie.” Said Elizabeth, laughing. “We saw you talking to you own reflection.”

“But….” I turned around so I could so them that Cencila was there but all I saw in the mirror was my own reflection, no image of Cencila. When they saw the puzzled look on my face they started laughing again.

“Come one everyone, let have breakfast, we don”t want to spend our whole day here laughing our heads off, do we?” Sophie insisted.

We all walked in to the dinning room and had a seat.

“Could you please pass me the butter?” Elizabeth asked politely. She was sitting at the end of the table and there was no way that she could have been able to reach it.

I reached out my hands to pass her the butter but my sleeve got caught on the glass, I accidently knocked it over. The juice in it splashed and it got on Sophie’s beautiful dress.

David stood up. “Next time, becareful!” David shouted angrily. Sophie pulled him back down the table. “It’s ok, just a little juice. It will go away in the washing machine.” Sophie said kindly.

“I have to go to work now.” David announced loudly. “And don”t forget we have some very important things to do today.”

Sophie grinned. “Don”t worry, I’ll take very good care of the kids.”

Wow! GOOD CARE. How terribly nice of her. I thought, but except that I never knew what the ‘good care’ really meant.
